I cannot believe that it was already one year ago that Hudson and Madden were born. It has been the fastest year...and I'm sure life will only fly by even more quickly now that they are ONE!
Let's take a quick look back at the last year...from the beginning....
I never thought I would make it to almost 39 weeks with twins....but my baby incubator worked!! And holy cow was I huge!
And then the little buggers were born, just 7 minutes apart-- Hudson first!

And the week of their 1st Birthday--- Happy Birthday to our big ONE year olds!!!!
(Hudson L, Madden R)
Their Birthday week was lots of fun! On Wednesday they celebrated with their friends at day care!! From L-R are: Laken, Ella, Kate, Hudson, Kailer, Paisley, Madden, Colton and Bobby. Not pictured...Addison and Sophie
And although a bit out of the typical order...Paisley and I had our picture taken with our baby bellies.

This is the first week that I have really felt pregnant. I am about 23 weeks pregnant now. I have had cramping, major fatigue....and it's getting harder and harder to carry the twins up and down the stairs or play on the floor with the kiddos. I've been feeling her move lots, and can tell that she has a somewhat regular awake/sleep pattern.
And now.........Hudson and Madden's actual BIRTHDAY!!! On Saturday, we had a party!! They were both in really good moods, and the party was really fun! It was Paul Frank themed....anytime I can incorporate monkey's, you know I will!!
Silly Hudson wanted the focus to be on him, and just him today! :)
Neither of the boys cared much for opening gifts. It was quite chaotic...but our family was very generous! Thank you for all of the wonderful gifts, and for celebrating the day with us! We really appreciate it!!
They even got their very own chairs from Grandma and Grandpa Moe!

(The Berg cousins...missing Payton)
And mom and dad got the twins a wagon!!! (if they only made them to fit 4! :) )
Each of the boys got their very own, special cake. Hudson didn't care for his. He took a couple of bites and then whined to get down. Madden on the other had devoured his. He didn't smile once. Just dug in, made a mess and got a huge sugar high! :)
After the party, Paisley and Craig went outside to play. The boys and I watched from inside with envy.....

Now-- who are these one year old's that we speak of???
HUDSON KOEHLER---
My sleeping pattern: Hudson wakes up around 7:00am, goes down for a morning nap from 9:30-10:30, an afternoon nap from 1:30-2:30/3:00 and then back to bed at night around 7:30.
I love to eat: manderin oranges, cheese, noodles, pears, froot loops, toast with jelly, and pancakes...and dog food!! (seriously, he loves it)
Teeth: Hudson has 6 teeth
I am one and I can: sign "all done", walk all on my own, use a complete pincer grasp, say mama and dada, turn the pages in a book, roll a ball on request, wave hi and bye, show you I am "one".
My personality: Hudson is very laid back, he whines if anyone touches his toy, he runs away with stuff he knows he shouldn't have--and laughs about it, he is somewhat picky about food, he laughs at anything and everything.
MADDEN MICHAEL---
Things I like to do: climb, run, take toys away from my brother, dance, rock with daddy, talk and yell, and dig in the cabinets.
My sleeping pattern: Madden wakes up around 7:00am, takes a morning nap from 9:30-10:30 and an afternoon nap from 1:30-2:30/3:00. Then he goes back to bed around 7:30. Out of the two, Madden requires more sleep and is always ready to nap sooner!
I love to eat: Reeses cereal, crackers, corn, noodles, waffles, mac n cheese and froot loops
Teeth: Madden has 8 teeth
I am one and I can: walk all on my own, carry a large object while walking, use a complete pincer grasp, say- mama, dada, duck, quack and dance, wave, sign "all done", turn the pages in a book, and roll a ball on request.
My Personality: Madden is always on the go, he begs to be held all of the time, he is a bully and takes toys away and hits Hudson, he is silly and loves to dance on command and makes funny faces to get a laugh.
Both boys had their very last bottle last night. :( They are on sippy cups only....and no more formula either! After a long couple of weeks, we finally figured out that Hudson absolutly hates the taste of whole milk. So, for now...the little stinker gets vanilla almond milk. He drinks it right up. I'm hoping we can transition him to regular milk, but am not sure it will happen. So now, they have their own milkies in cups, along with water...they both love water too!
They both are into watching Mickey Mouse on tv, and listening to any type of music. They love reading books and singing songs.
Hudson and Madden are really interacting with eachother now. They laugh at each other and "talk" to eachother. Madden will take Hudson's nuk out and they will play with it together. And yes, they do get jealous of each other too. When one gets picked up, the other cries! (That's the hardest part of being a parent of twins, in my opinion).
I always knew that I would love my children. I never knew how that love would completly top anything and everything else that was going on in my life. Our household is really crazy somedays--but you know what...I wouldn't trade it for the world. I am so blessed to have the smiles, noise, hugs, laughs, kisses, snuggles and even the craziness and business that it all entales. This past year has tested my patients more than any other time in my life-- nursing two boys at the same time, endless sleepless nights, more poopy diapers than you can even imagine---but above it all, this family means more to me than anything ever will. I am so looking forward to each and every year to come, because this past year has been amazing! Happy Birthday, boys--- mommy, daddy and miss P love you soooooo much!!
