Bye-Bye Baby

The beginning of the week was so beautiful.
We had ice cream, went on walks...ahh, spring.

And then, because I wasn't irritated enough when in snowed a million inches in April, it decided to snow 8 (EIGHT!) inches in MAY. Shoot me now. I have four kids in the house, one of whom has taken my last ounce of patience. It was so depressing.

Luckily, it didn't last all that long (but long enough!)

While it snowed here, G&G were in Vegas. The kids got M&M jammies. So fun!

During nap time one day I told Paisley to work on something quiet while I graded papers. She began drawing, and when she was finished, she showed me this....her wedding. It's her and Nicholas (a boy in her class) getting married. And so it starts...

But what I find fascinating about this is that although she hasn't been to a recent wedding, she knew to get married in a church. And what a beautiful drawing of our church. Complete with yellow walls (true to our church) and Jesus (who died so we could live, she told me. ) Plus, check out the rock on her finger. Go Nicholas!

Well....I can say that the girls' room is 97% done. There are a few finishing touches I need to do...and a few things to change from the old décor...but before it's trashed, here are a few pictures.

Cal, our handy-dandy brother in law, and Craig build this loft for Paisley. I knew what I wanted, and they delivered! (Thank you!!)
Paisley absolutely loves her own little hide-away. The boys can get up and down, but she's totally made it her own little home up there, hoarded with a million things. But her things, and that's all that matters. She loves playing up there now. And I love that she's happy.

So what's missing you (or Everleigh) might ask?! That's right...no more crib means no more babies in the house. She's talking like a big girl, sassing like a big girl, and now, sleeping like one too!

It's hard to even think about that fact that we will be selling 3(!) cribs in our upcoming thrift sale...and that there is no turning back. This is it. We have 3 toddlers and an almost school-ager. I don't know how that happened. Seriously?! I can remember the exact place I sat to type the blog post telling you all that we surprisingly were expecting number four. And it feels like yesterday that my water broke started leaking (and I tried to get Craig to smell it to see if it was pee. BAH HAHAHA. He refused. I can't imagine why.) Our baby E, isn't so babyish anymore.

Our big girl went to bed just like she should. Slept through the night and we haven't looked back. It's bitter-sweet. Sometimes more bitter than sweet, and some days, I'm so ready for the next stage. But either way...look at my baby Ever getting ready for her first night in her big girl bed!

zzzzzzzzzzz......

With Oscar Miller as her protector.
...and nap time too...

Sleep tight,
Mama Bergie
