Whew.

It's been an interesting couple of weeks, to say the least. If you've been checking for an updated post, sorry.
All of my photos this week also came from our phones. I miss getting my big camera out to take pictures, but I just never think about it. And my phone is just always with me.

So, highlights (and one lowlight) of our last couple of weeks.

The best news...warmth!! I think spring is here (knock on wood). The kids played and played and played outside. YAY!
At first, it was warming up, but we still had plenty of snow.
(notice baby Hannah is going for a ride with Evers)

Just a few short days later, all of the snow was gone! L-O-V-E. Now I'm just praying it stays that way...until like December 5th-ish.

It was Dr.Seuss's Birthday, so the schools celebrated. We attended an event at 4K and did crafts, had snacks and picked out books.

The boys with Miss Emily

Paisley and her crazy socks and I left the event early to get to dance.

Miss P also dressed the part for Wacky Wednesday.

We were happy to welcome Elliot and family home.

Oh....and over the last few weeks, we decided to paint. Most of the house was one color, minus the bedrooms and bathrooms. We decided we wanted a lighter, cooler color. But picking that color. Oh good Lord. I bought four different samples and had paint up all over the house. I'm surprised Craig didn't move out. I must have been so annoying. The colors were all so close, yet so different.
When I finally picked a color, Craig used his day off to get started. It looked like the house had blown up because the kids got every toy out and left it out-- but I was happy to have had a huge head start when the weekend rolled around.
(you can see the old color at the top of the walls in the picture below)
 Seriously a disaster.

The good news is that I love the color I picked and am really happy with it. And thank you to Wet Paint! for your help too! :)

During our time away, we also celebrated Grandma Bonnie's birthday. Here she is with all of her favorites.

Who doesn't love a little game of memory?
Well, me. I don't. When I'm playing against Hudson that is. That kid is SO good. Like, he legit wins, and I'm trying super hard. Apparently his memory is really good. And mine is not.

Hudson is also known to be a bit sneaky. Maybe his memory can't retain the fact that he usually gets caught. At least I think he does. :)
Green smoothie for the win.

So the next part of our week wasn't so great. In fact, it was pretty bad.
Monday night, the kids were outside playing. Craig was cleaning up wood from a tree we had cut down. I was in the shower. The next thing I knew, Craig was yelling at me to get out of the shower, that Paisley had fallen off of the swing and he thought she needed to go to the ER.
I quick got out, while he cleaned her up.
If you get queezy at all...I'd suggest skipping the next photo...

Craig quick snapped a picture, and then cleaned her up.

The poor honey fell off the swing from about 6 feet up, and landed smack on her face.
We hurried right into the ER.
The blood wouldn't stop, and she was in lots of pain.
She had a CT scan done to check for any bleeding or breaks. She ended up with a slight fracture to her nose. But nothing they would do anything about. It was pretty swollen, but would likely quickly heal on its own.
Then they checked her mouth. Turns out, when she fell, she must have fallen in a way that literally ripped her bottom lip apart from her gum line.

They put her under, and operated on her to reattach everything. She was such a trooper! It was a super long night...mostly because it's the ER, and everything takes forever. But we also waited for a plastic surgeon, and they had to wait for her tummy to settle because she had recently eaten dinner. She went into surgery at about 11:00pm.
Everything went well...except when she was coming out of anesthesia. She was having a lot of breathing issues. Her asthma is often induced from any crying or very emotional times, and because of the breathing tube, it made it bad.
It was really scary---we had 6 medical providers standing around her trying to stabilize her, and she'd just look at me and mouth "I can't breathe". It was heart wrenching. I couldn't help. I didn't know what to do. Finally, they ended up giving her some morpheme to just knock her out so that her breathing could stabilize. It worked. Whew.

She was seriously so strong through it all. Eating liquids for the next couple of days was rough, but after a follow up appointment on Friday, she's back to eating regular food, just cut up. She has 11 stitches in her mouth and asks every day when I think they'll fall out. :)
She's on the mend now, and I'll be happy if we never experience that again.

Before the swing incident, Paisley had invited her friends Hailee and Taylor over to spend the night (the following Friday). We didn't want to take that from her--so although she was exhausted and had to keep it pretty low key, the girls still had a blast.
Whew. I'm happy this week is over. I'm ready for a new, happier, less exciting week.

XOXO,
Brook
