Winter Wonderland

Another week has come and gone. The kids are growing, the snow is falling and I am becoming more and more behind on Christmas shopping. Oh, you don't care about that? Just the kids? Okay...

Little Everleigh Calla isn't so little. At 5 1/2 months she's sitting on her own for a minute or so, eating lots of nummy baby food and even chewing on some apple. She loves when her sister and brothers talk to her, and she wants to eat anything and everything. Her favorites at the moment: mommy and daddy's cheeks, her hands and feet, toys, and bibs.

Hudders....oh, Hudders. Lately you will find Hudson typically wearing high heals, a headband and jewelry while carrying around his babies. He's getting in touch with his feminine side. :) Both he and Madden are also taking their clothes off on their own now--which really isn't fun. It takes me long enough to get everyone in the house dressed. So when I turn around and see that I have to do it all over again (and be at daycare in 10 minutes) I'm not real happy.

This weekend, Paisley and I made some cookies. Hudson and Madden sat at the counter and "helped". And by helped, I mean I continuously yelled at them to stop touching the melting chocolate, to put down the knife, to get their fingers out of the peanut butter and to stop picking the sprinkles off! Finally Craig said from the other room, "Brook, you should hear yourself!" --- deep breath, deep breath. They are only cookies. Who cares.....right?!!?

As you can see, Paisley was sure to get enough chocolate on, and sprinkles too! Wowzers!

In our household, the kiddos hit the hay around 7:30. It's that time when we pick up the tornado that had been powering through the 12 hours before. It's the time that we prepare for work for the next day, check facebook, and sometimes, Craig and I even get to mutter a few words to each other before one of us heads up to bed. Sometimes. But it never fails, whomever is the first to head to bed says to the other, "when you come to bed, look at ____". Number one, the kids are just SO cute. And number two, they sleep in the weirdest positions and have the silliest things in bed with them!

And from the next picture you will notice Madden's obsession with Elmo has not slowed down. He literally whines to watch Elmo movies all day long. It's terribly annoying and cute in the same manner.

This weekend, winter reared it's ugly head. And really, it's only ugly when you are a parent. It's SO much work to get kids bundled up, just to get into a warm car. And it's so ugly when the kids have played with every toy in the house and they (and you!) are dying to run around outside. BUT...this weekend, the snow fell perfectly on the trees...and stuck. It was anything but ugly.

The kids were really excited to see it in the morning. Paisley just kept saying, "wow, it really is beautiful out"

So with the first snowfall comes the first time gearing up to play in it!! Yay!! Well....Yay for everyone except Hudson. After a 10 minute struggle, Hudson's parents decided it wasn't worth it, and he stayed inside with his mommy and baby sister.

But Madden absolutely loved every last second of it.

Hope your home is beginning to resemble a winter wonderland too!
G'Night,
Brook, Craig, Paisley, Hudson, Madden, Everleigh & Oscie
