Without summer day care at Londa's house, the kids are at home a lot. They act like they are heading to Disney World when we tell them we have to run to the store. Poor things. They are just dying to get out of the house. Or away from the house I should say. It's just not practical or easy to take them all out. This week, we really made an effort to do FUN stuff. We visited grandparents, went to the park, went swimming, slid down the stairs in sleeping bags, had squirt gun fights, did sensory activities, and went on walks and bike rides.
Mid week, I took Paisley on a little tour of her new school. Miss P will go to 4K at Genesis (Our first choice! See, staying up until midnight to sign her up like a psycho mom pays off!). She's been asking a million questions about school--and since she's unfamiliar with a center day care/school environment, I wanted her to be prepared. So--this is what she said, "It's SO awesome, Mom! I cannot WAIT to go there! I really hope my job is the prayer leader because I'm really good at that." (I don't have the heart to tell her that religion won't be a part of her 1/2 day at school, so although she is the best prayer leader, she'll have to fall in love with a different job.) She was able to meet a few of her soon to be classmates and her teacher, Miss Heather. Although I know I'll cry like a baby the first day I drop her off....she's so ready. And she's going to have so much fun!
We took the kids to the pool for the first time this year. Paisley--yeah, we didn't really see much of her. Up the stairs, down the slide. Repeat.
Before I had kids, I said I wouldn't let my children have any play guns. The problem---they have a father. And I guess he gets a say in what they do too. So squirt gun fight it is!
Uh, oh! My gun broke. Guess I'll just kick back and relax then....
We also played in kids shaving cream! The kids LOVED it! .....Until it was time to clean them up and I hosed them all off with freezing cold water. Ooops. HEY, I didn't want that stuff tracking through the house. :)
We ended this week with a perfect mass in honor of Uncle Larry. We drove up to Larry's church to be among his congregation saying extra prayers for him. Last week he was moved to a ventilator center about 20 minutes away...you are one amazing man....stay strong. xoxo
Hope you all have a great week,
Brook, Craig, Paisley, Hudson, Madden & Everleigh
