A Camping We Will Go

This week/weekend, we took off and went camping! Right now for us, camping involves water slides, outdoor movies, mini-golf and cotton candy. But don't get me wrong, sleeping with our whole family in a tent is camping. Dirty feet, sandy tent bottoms, uncomfortable air mattresses, sticky marshmallow faces and all. It was great.

Last year was our first time camping with the Lokkens at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camping/Resort. We just had to head back for year two. My guess is that this will become our annual cousin's camping spot. It's perfect for the kids--and as they get older...they'll probably join the karoke and dance parties that head late into the night. Eeek.

Here is a recap of our little get-a-way.

Swimming. Lots and lots of swimming.

All of the kids love the water. But Mad Mike has no fear at all.

Uncle Cal whipped the littles around....

...While Craig threw the big kids waaaay up
(I love Paisley's position in the air)

The kids watched Yogi cartoons at the outdoor theatre...

Went mini-golfing

The best part--which I don't have a picture of is Everleigh hitting her golf ball, dropping her club and running as fast as she could to the hole. Golf, sweetie. Not baseball.

We went on a train ride

Makyah and Cambree are always so good to our children. Makyah is such a good helper and is such a little mom to the kids. Cams is so patient with Madden as be begs for her ipad all of the time, and they all play really well together.

But it's bound to happen that the little kids ruin the big kids stuff. Like when one dumps water all over the buried person and her mom was just about to take a picture of it. How rude! Kyah's face says it all. Those darn little kids.

More swimming. We seriously swam like the entire time. The weather was HOT and beautiful for being in the water all day.

Our time away was perfect. Well.... if you call one child puking from heat exhaustion in the tent in the middle of the night perfect. Or over tired kids perfect. Or gnats and mosquitos galore perfect.

But we have amazing family and amazing memories that will be with us forever. It wouldn't be the Bergie Bunch if we were perfectly put together, right?!
Yogi 2013 is in the books.
Peace Out.
