Halloween Festivities

Courtney took the kids to a special Halloween party earlier in the week--and from the looks of it, the kids had a blast. I wish I could have seen their reactions to the face painting in person, but I'm happy she sent pictures!

Elementary school Halloween parade! Here comes our Pippi Longstocking!

Every Halloween our family and friends join us at our house for pre-candy snacks. Then we all head out in our neighborhood to Trick-or-Treat.

Michelangelo and Leonardo kept us safe.

All of the kiddos...

Our iPad, Leonardo, Pippi and Witch had so much fun!

Madden and Everleigh were the first to call it quits. They went back home and hung with the Grandmas, while Hudson and Paisley tried to keep up with Kyah and Cams.

And the guys were the slowest. Stopping for beers at every other house, I swear.

And going through the loot. We have WAY too much candy here.

Even though Halloween was over, the kids still wanted to play dress up.

Getting the kids to give me a 'real' smile is hard work. We be cheezin a lot here...

The beautiful...okay, chilly, but bearable fall weather will soon be leaving us behind, so we're getting outside as much as possible.

For about the last 6 months, or maybe even more, Paisley has been asking for a new Monster High Doll. The poor kid shares her birthday with Christmas, so all of her 'wants' typically come once a year. Crap, if you ask me. But these parents are on a very strict budget and just can't get the kids new toys whenever. SO, Miss P has been saving and saving for this doll. She's saved money that she's gotten from watering the plants at G&G Bergs, giving mom a backrub, doing extra chores, Halloween, and she's been taking change out of the van. :) But, after a good 6 months, Paisley had $22.10! Enough to buy the doll.

I'm proud of her. And the best part? She worked, and saved, and saved! (the instant gratification that kids expect these days kills me) And I promise that this doll will mean more to her than any doll that would have been gifted to her.
XOXO,
Brook
