"SOCCER MOM"

I always envisioned myself with a little tribe of kids. I knew I wanted several children. I used to think about what I would name them, our bedtime routine, and driving them to their activities. Even though I did not what to drive a mini van, I wanted to be a soccer mom. Happiness to me would be someday loading the kids up and supporting them as they grew into fun-loving kids, teens and adults.

This week, I saw a glimpse of that. You might say, you just saw a glimpse of that now? You have a six year old. Why sure. But for the most part, our life has been (and still can be) so chaotic from every day life....and by every day life I mean, getting them fed, bathed, packed in the (stupid) van, picking up toys, cleaning up spills and changing diapers. Now....even though we still do most of those things, every day life is getting a little tiny bit easier.
And although we still have a two year old, each of the children are getting more mature, more independent, and we are finally at a place where they will all be involved in extra curricular activities.

If you've followed the blog or know us in person, you know that raising twin boys has been hard. I just wasn't sure they were ready for structured activities as soon as Paisley had been. Actually, I was sure that they weren't. So this week was pretty exciting as Hudson and Madden started their first 'season' of sports (besides swimming lessons). Each week for 8 weeks they will participate in ABC Sport Tykes Class.
They loved it. They stuck right beside each other. And guess what they played? SOCCER. If you know Craig at all, you know these things about him. 1) He loves WI sports. 2) He is a great dad. 3) He HATES soccer. 4) He really hates soccer. But ggggguuuueeeesssss wwwwhhhooooo lllloooovvvveeeedddd iiiitttt?? Hahaha! Madden was really good. Hudson did a lot of sitting on his ball, but had fun. :)

Each time they had to line up, the twins were together, and far away from every one else. And every time the teachers would say, "On your Mark"--they would RUN! And have to go back and try again. :)

And then....Madden decided to stick his hand in his pants. This is a common occurrence at home, something we're working on. It's a bit more embarrassing (for me anyway) when your butt is facing 20 parents watching the cute little boy who has his hand in his pants.....

....for a long time. He even completed tasks like this!! He's either super talented, or...uh...I'm not sure. He's just Madden. And we love him for it.

Yup, still in there...

They played  a little Duck Duck Goose as well. Madden was picked, and then chose his teacher. Hudson was  never chosen. This could be because every time someone came near him, he laid his head in his own lap. And that's Hudson being Hudson. And we love him for it.

I happened to get Hudson mid-fall. Shockingly, he got right back up and kept going.

These kiddos sure do have our heart. It's crazy how different each one of them are. XO

Everleigh is such a good helper. The second she sees us doing laundry or dishes, she's all in.

We also had to say good-bye to Grandpa again while he's away for work. Farewells are notorious for monkey piles.

Paisley had a dance performance this week at a local assisted living center. The best part, Great Grandma Marian could join us! Because typical performance sites have bleachers or stairs, she had never seen Miss P perform. Until now....

Her friends Annika and Emarie

After they performed, each girl had to announce their name and their favorite skill. "Hi, My name is Paisley. My favorite skill is a leg extension." :)

Miss P also got a special day making fairy gardens with Grandma Bonnie and Makyah and Cambree!

And finally, this soccer mom and her team busted out of the house!! SPRING is here. Well, maybe. It's not super spring-like, but warm enough to be outside...and the sun was shining! Ahhhh....

The piles of snow are still bigger than we'd like...and the yard is half snow, half mud...but we got out on bikes, and even took a couple diggers. I love it.

This week I'll be signing all four kids up for activities. It's seriously a job in itself to coordinate two dance classes on the same day, same time at separate locations, two t-ball classes and four rounds of swimming lessons....of which many classes begin at 5:00. And I work until 5, and Craig works until 6. It's okay.... I heart planning...and I've written it out with pencil and paper about 5 more times that I've needed to. Because I'm a soccer mom. And it makes me happy.
