camp

Last week all four kiddos finished up swimming lessons. They all passed, and we now have a Level 2, Otter, and two Seals. Also, let me just mention (again) that Craig and I also completed our last parent-tot session...ever!

Last weekend we also took our annual trip to Jellystone campground. We stayed longer than in the past, which is also why there wasn't a post last week.
This year, Craig's brother (and fam) and parents joined us for two of the days.
With water slides, outdoor movies, mini golf and a zillion other things to do, some people might say we weren't really camping. But hey, my ass slept in a tent for three nights and the kids were entertained the entire time. It's a win-win. Well, except maybe the tent part. Camping would be better in my own bed.

The hightlight of the trip for everyone? The golf cart.
G&G splurged and got us all a cart for two nights (thank you!) and they kids had an absolute blast with it. Even when it was just sitting at the camp site, Cambree gave 'tours' and they did a tremendous amount of pretend play and all got along surprisingly well the entire time.

Because it was so fun, every time Grandma went back to her cabin, every single one of the eight grandkids wanted to ride along (on the four person cart) and she let them. That's what Grandma's are for, right? That also meant that there were times sitting at the campsite that it was quite. Like completely quiet. That never happens.

Sibling love :)

Melissa thought it would be a good idea for us all to tie dye while we were there. And, it was a good idea! The kids loved it, and it worked really well. Thanks, Mel!

Much of the time when we weren't swimming, Everleigh was doing this. And it kept her happy....as that child is in her terrible threes...and the whining and tantrums and refusals are at an all-time high right now. I was really thankful she could find solitude in her trike.

Obviously camping equals campfires and smores.

A little swimming at the beach.
(note: I committed to only getting my camera out one time at each location. I really wanted to watch, and swim and play too. It worked. I had fun, and fewer pictures to go through at blog time. Win.)

Everytime we went to the restroom....which let me tell you was A LOT because nobody was on the same schedule....we had to stop to see if Yogi and Boo Boo were inside sleeping. Every time, they were. But we looked, every time.

Golfing with Yogi, Boo Boo and Cindy is always fun.
Here are all 8 Berg cousins...

Baby E putting with that one spiral curl, still hanging on.

We saw Makyah doing some dance moves or tricks on the golf course. So what do you think her not-so-cool uncle has to do?? Show her up, right?

And then he remembers that he's in his thirties, and rolls around on the ground moaning and groaning. Love it.

(Shout out to you, Lewis. This has got to be better than pics of B-renda and I)

Yogi and the Bergie Bunch 2014. Looking forward to next year already.

Sleeping in the tent with these four rascals sucked. Plain and simple. Each night, one of the kids (except Paisley) had something going on. I was tired for like three days after coming back. Some day it will get easier.
In fact, we were so desperate for Everleigh to get some sleep, that Craig drove up and down I94 until she finally passed out. It was worth it.

The theme of the week was Boo Boo's Beach party, so two of the nights there was a DJ and big party on the beach. The first night, we layed awake in our tents waiting for the blaring music to end. The second night, the big girls (and uncle Cal) joined the party.
Boo Boo's beach party was followed by a late night cruise in the golf cart, and the three older girls' favorite memory of the trip-- Chinese fire drills and Ding-dong ditching grandma and grandpa's cabin! Bahaha!

So many fun memories of the trip. The kids are already asking when we can go again.

Until next time, Yogi. The Bergie Bunch and extended fam are signing off. XOXO
