Thanksgiving day we loaded up in this chilly weather and went to Grandma Brenda and Grandpa Mike's house. I'm not kidding about the chilly weather.
Winter's in WI aren't great for an 11 pound pup. But heaters and fireplaces make it okay for our little buddy boy.
I did a terrible job of taking pictures on Thanksgiving. I know, it's kinda the story of my life lately. I made a promise to myself to enjoy the moments more instead of living behind the camera, but I think that may have backfired on me. Soon my memory will go, and I'll have no pictures to look back on either! I'll work on it.
The kids (there are 3 in this pic) bombarded Alyssa for about 2 hours on Thanksgiving. She's probably thankful she could leave them at my moms and go home to peace and quiet.
Thankfully for us, Amy & Elle were home to visit.
And I cannot tell you how freaking excited the kids are that....Oliver's back!!
They've had a countdown going, and were talking about him non-stop. This little Elf sure has their hearts. He was at our house when we came home on Thanksgiving night.
Santa's helper helped himself to my movie theatre popcorn and diet coke while we were sleeping. Thanks a lot. The kids thought it was the funniest thing ever. They are easy to please. Tomorrow is December. That means Christmas is SO close, and Miss P is nearing 7. We haven't fully decorated because Craig's worked the last several days (long days) so we haven't all been together to do it. We did get a start on a few things though.
This year's Birthday ornament is a Monster High girl. Go figure.
Somebody has been stealing the show lately. Rightfully so. And she's got the cheese face down like nobody else. I really was trying to get a picture of H&M. Speaking of...I had conferences for them this week. They both received excellent report cards. I'm so proud of them. Their teachers said that they are respectful, great listeners and always let them know when others aren't doing what they should be doing. (AHEM. We might have tattlers, not sure. :) ) I learned that Madden is open to making friends with all of the kids, spends as much time as possible in the art center and is almost meeting his end of the year benchmarks already. I learned that Hudson is always watching for Madden and either chooses Madden or a teacher to play with. (peer friendships other than Madden is a goal we set for him). He's funny (and sarcastic. no clue who he gets that from), sits very well in circle time, is respectful and is almost meeting his end of the year benchmarks already too. So fun getting great reports. Oh yah....the picture of Everleigh. :) .....
Craig brought up an old toy of his from the basement--the kids were in awe.
Paisley's been asking me to make pierogies with her. She knows they are my absolutely favorite food. My mom used to make them for me once a year--I always requested them for my birthday. They are a lot of work to make...and so messy. But since we had all of the ingredients, and no reason not to, we did it. The amount of flour all over everything was ridiculous. Then little Everleigh Calla wanted to help. Yah...help she wasn't. I finally convinced her to take pictures of us making the food. That worked until she began pumping inappropriate music from my phone and I couldn't get to her fast enough with my hands covered in dough, flour and cottage cheese. My kids have never said a bad word. Ever. Well, unless you count "stupid", which they love to call everyone out on. But...after the pierogie making incident, that might change.
And it looks like someone will be having a late night snack too. Oh shoot.
So much to be thankful for. Hope you had a great week. I look forward to sharing the craziness and fun that is December!
XOXO,
Bergie Bunch Ma
