Down for the count

If you know Paisley at all, you know how much she's struggled with allergies since she was 2 months old. She's been on medication after medication, cream after cream and inhaler after inhaler. This week, she went in for intravenous allergy testing (she's already done the skin tests) in preparation for possible allergy shots. After identifying several other things (trees, grass, molds, ragweed, blah blah blah) that she's allergic to...we have decided to do the allergy shots. I'm already nervous for her. Poor baby. She will get two shots 1-2 times per week for 7 months, and then once a month for the next FIVE years. Crap. That's a lot of trips to the doctor and a lot of shots. But I'll do anything if she can feel normal for a day. If she can breathe, or not be stuffed up at the same time as having a runny nose...if we can find some relief for this little girl, it will be so worth it.

This is Oliver's last week with us. Here are a few things he's been up to.

Sometimes at night, we fight over Oscar. Craig wants him in bed with us, but 9 times out of 10, Oscar chooses one of the kids. One night, either Oscar kicked Everleigh off of the pillow, or she was so topsy-turvy and he totally scored. Either way, super cute.

Paisley brought giant cookies to share with her classmates in celebration of soon turning 7.

And a night we've been waiting for--the much anticipated Christmas program at the twin's 4K. They dressed up as Olaf, which for a 4 year old, is like the best thing ever. Would I have rather had them dressed to impress with a cute tie and spiked up hair? Totally. But they absolutely loved being Olaf.

Our seats weren't great for getting photos. In fact, I could hardly see Hudson. They are in the back row. Hudson's 5th from the right and Madden's 3rd from the right.

They both sang. Definitely not loudly, in fact, Hudson's lips didn't move very much. But it's better than covering his face up with his hands so nobody could see him, which is what he told me he was going to do.
(not sure why Madden's face looks green)

They got treats from Santa after.

It was a rough day/night Saturday with some of the kids getting fevers and headaches. We were worried we'd have to cancel our joint family b-day party for Makyah and Paisley. The kids were just barely well enough to celebrate...

It's always fun to have the cousin's together. Happy Birthday, Makyah!

But then...it got worse. Each child with a fever, the chills...dun dun dun.
Little Hudson had to have a nebulizer treatment and fell asleep during it.

We are kind of pathetic around here tonight. I'm praying they are well just in time for the holiday festivities.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas.
XOXO,
Brook
