This is definitely the longest I've ever gone without blogging. I would think of it every day. It would haunt me. There goes another week with no blog. I would promise myself that today was the day... I'd find time and try to sit in front of the computer. But, I just didn't have the energy to do it. I had shared with you a while back that I needed knee surgery. Well, surgery day has come and gone. And I'll tell you this. It sucks. And that's the nicest possible term I can find.
I had my ACL and meniscus repaired. It was (still is) painful and super inconvenient, especially as a mom. It's been three weeks since the surgery. I'm still on crutches and in a big brace. My house is messy, my kids have learned how to carry my plates of food to the couch, and Oscar has gotten in some major snuggle time.
It's the reason my house is neglected, my husband is neglected and what you're concerned about, it's the reason this blog has been so neglected.
My pictures are sporadic. I'm positive I'm missing several cute and amazing things that have happened in June and July. But I'm here! I'm blogging. I'm sitting at a high-top chair, and I'm not dying. :)
The new knee...
Paisley tried out a four day volleyball camp at the YMCA. She had a lot of fun and is pretty darn good at the ol' bump, set, spike.
We had the pleasure of dog sitting for a family friend for a couple of weeks. Tucker stole our heart and there were lots of tears when he left. It was fun having extra company around the house...especially a two year old, not a10 year old grumpy puppy.
We were also lucky enough to have a lot of time with my best friend and her girls over the last few weeks as they prepared for their move to Seattle. We are going to miss them terribly...but enjoyed our time with them.

It kinda seems like the summer is half over. Well, I guess it is. That make me want to cry, especially since I will spend this entire summer not being able to walk--or not running around with the kids anyway.
Finally Hudson can keep up with Madden! Hooray for two wheels!
The twins finished up T-ball. Hudson fell in love with it...Madden isn't so sure.
Clearly not in order...but Paisley Rian has completed 1st grade. She had a great last day of school, and I was happy to be there to watch her run around with her friends.
The littles sending off big sissy.
We were beyond blessed with a wonderful teacher. We are sad Mrs. Conaway is retiring and that none of the littles will get her, but she and Paisley have already been writing to each other this summer, so hopefully we will all stay in touch.
Summer...bikes, bubbles and baseball (in pajamas)The fourth of July we celebrated with family and friends...and we celebrated our niece Cambree's 10th Birthday!
The Blue Angels were in town for a two day show. We live close enough to the airport to hear and see them practice for a few days before the show. However, not much compared to being a couple of blocks from the airport and having them scare the crap out of you as they flew right over your head. So cool. (now Hudson wants to be a pilot. go figure. )
Also, Paisley's been taking a short session of dance. She had her performance and killed it as always. :)
The most exciting thing that has happened over the last few weeks?? We told the kids that we are taking a vacation...to Disney World!!
Everleigh's reaction was unreal. She said, "That's not funny! That's not fun! I wanted a calendar for my babies instead!"
After the shock wore off, the kids were screaming and smiling from ear to ear. We can't wait! Even though it's a few months away, I have a feeling it's going to be here before we know it.
Thanks for reading your way through this long, mess of out of order pictures and lack of narrative. I'm looking forward to feeling better and getting back on track with blogging.
And thank you to all who have helped our family during this time....it's very much appreciated!
Also, a brief birthday post for our not so baby girl is below.
Until next time,
XOXO,
Brook
