4K and Memorial Day

The end of the school year is almost here. How did that happen? Paisley, Hudson and Madden had track & field day, so I went to watch. I wasn't really able to get pics of the boys doing their races, but they both were speedy! :) Paisley had been chosen to be on her classroom's rely team and she was so excited and nervous. Her team took second place. I'm not so sure she was super excited about that...but she handled it well. :)

Hudson's class got third (out of 3) in Tug of War. I yelled something smart to his teacher and she said they hadn't been conditioning like they should. Darn teachers, focusing on reading and math.

 Madden's class got first.
After Track & Field day, we headed right to Everleigh's school for her 4 year old Kindergarten graduation. I can't say enough about their 4K program, center and teachers. It's been wonderful being part of the Genesis family for three years. I had tears for days leading up to the last day. So many memories, so much growth, and on to new beginnings. Good...but hard. For this emotional mama, anyway.

Everleigh has grown so much this year. First of all, I didn't have to fight quite as hard to get her in a dress for graduation as I did to get her in one for the Christmas program, so there's that! She has really come of her shell as well. She's still pretty introverted and shy, but has made huge gains in that area too. She's writing, understands sounds of letters, and has had many great learning and social experiences that have set a great foundation for Kindergarten. Gulp. (and the little graduate sang her heart out!)

 Getting her diploma!

During the slide show, Everleigh reveled a new career choice. She moved from mommy working at McDonalds to a Police Officer.
 Grandma's are the best...

At the end of the ceremony, the graduate was hyper! And the goofball we know and love.

Love her. Especially when I capture her real smile, not the curled up lip, cheese face I normally get from her. My heart explodes with love...
 Class of 2029.
Weird fact. My kids will graduate in '26, '28 and '29. When I had each of them, I was 26, 28 and 29.

 Miss Lydia and Miss Emily
We are so proud of you, Ev!

This weekend we had brunch with our whole family, drove to MN to see our friend's new house, had a bonfire, went to the Memorial Day parade and spent a gorgeous day at the Lokkens.

We cheered on Makyah in the parade. She kinda gave us the stink eye. The end of 7th grade will do that to ya.

Matching suits for these two. As you can imagine, Paisley looks up to Makyah, so is loving the opportunity to be juuuusssttt like her.
It was a great week and weekend. This week will wrap up school for the big kids, it went way too fast. They have field trips, a walk to DQ and the end of the year carnival...so a fun last week nonetheless.
Talk to you next week!
