Fall

Do you know what I hate? Back to school germs. The sickness that started with Madden made it's way through every single kid. Slowly.
Unfortunately for Everleigh, she had it on picture day. Here is what the Bergie Bunch looked like the morning of pictures.

Someone else in our family was sick too. Too sick to stay alive...poor Tator Tot lost his life a couple of weeks ago. I promptly cleaned out the fish tank and hid it downstairs, hoping the kids forget about pet fish all together. Oops, did I just admit that?

This little cutie has been sleeping a lot. Like, that's all he does. (expect rip up tissues when he can get to them).

He's been going to the vet a lot because of his chronic ear infections. Last time, we noticed significant weight loss (and he's been getting sick a lot). They did blood work, and unfortunately, we learned that our boy, Oscie Miller is in kidney failure. At this point, he's only living on about 25% of his kidneys. We have switched his diet and are giving him lots of love. The other treatment options are risky because of his heart murmur, cost a lot of money, require him to be in the hospital for a week and won't guarantee any longer of a life.
This isn't easy. At all. In fact, the thought of him only living a few more months is beyond heartbreaking. We'll be watching him closely, letting him hog the bed, and loving him up as much as we possibly can.

If you had been wondering where our Tupperware was, like me... I found it. Complete with slime.
I swear, slime is taking over our house! Is this fad over yet?

Took the kids for ice cream on a beautiful fall day.

And are trying to enjoy the outdoors as much as we can, as winter is nearing. Nooooo....

Guess what happens when you are in 4th grade?? You get a recorder!! AHH! It's just as annoying when your husband plays it.
Paisley had her friend, Jocelyn stay over. She brought her recorder too! I've had about as much 'Hot Cross Buns' as one mom can handle.

Our niece, Makyah went to homecoming. I got to do her hair and makeup...love this young lady!

Everleigh is doing SO much better at school, sports, church, etc. It was a good three weeks of crying before every event, but I think she's passed that. Fingers crossed.
She started a short session of basketball last week. She loved it! She came home and told our neighbor that's she's super good--so she's got confidence going for her! :)

Craig and I celebrated our 13 year anniversary. Everleigh made a gift for me to give to Craig. She's so sweet.

We peered in her classroom at religious education as she prayed.

All kids have their days, and I am certainly biased, but I have the best kids. We tucked Paisley in bed, and little did we know, she snuck down to give Oscar one more hug, and this is how we found her.

The love she has for Oscar is undeniable.

Soccer has been freezing! She's keeping up with the pack, but isn't super aggressive when it comes to getting the ball.

Paisley had her dance intensive and team bonding this weekend. Bring on the dance season!
Thanks for checking in!
XOXO,
Brook
