Sunday night. Paisley got the flu.
Monday night. Craig and Madden got the flu. (yes, madden for a second time)
Tuesday. I had a work event I couldn't miss. My heavenly mother picked the kids up from day care for me. Then our van stalled. With all the kids in it. Then sick Craig had to try to fix it. Then my mom brought the kids to my work event. On the way home, in the van, Hudson got the flu. (yes, for the second time)
Tuesday night. Hudson and Craig had the flu.
Wednesday night. I started with a backache, then a stomach pain, but not a flu-like pain. It carried on for a few hours and when the pain reached "this is worse than labor" pain, I went to the ER. 6 hours later, I came home with a diagnosis of Diverticulitis. An infection in my colon.
Thursday. I am sicker than sick.
Friday. I am still in pain and have a birthday party to plan for the next day. I had not had a chance to purchase one thing for the party...see the days above for the reason.
With all of this--we had swimming lessons every night, a play date, last days of day care, friend birthday parties, work, a party to plan and life to live.
All I can say is that I am thankful that as I write this blog, we are all feeling mostly back to normal and that tomorrow is a new week. There is no way I will survive another week like this one.
Now the show must go on...
Paisley was asked to go to Como Zoo with her friend Magnolia from 4K. It was her first 'long trip' without me. She had a blast!
Like I mentioned, the twins started swimming lessons this week. We missed one day due to, you guessed it, the flu. And one night, our friend Missy so graciously swam in my place (thank you!). Madden loves every second. Hudson...he loves some of it. Like the songs. And not the 'let's dunk our head under' parts.
Because both Craig and I have to swim with the boys still, I was afraid I wouldn't get any pictures of them swimming, so I took these before...
But then when dropping Everleigh off at Grandma's one night, Paisley decided to come watch. Perfect, she could document the swimming. And oh boy, did she ever. When I got my phone back, we had about 50 blurry pictures of....the entire group. Could hardly even see us. :) Sweet thing. She was so proud. She did however manage to get two usable photos out of the 50 pictures and 10 videos she took during the 30 minute class. :)
While I worked at an event, my mom took P, H and E to climb in lots of large vehicles. I snuck away to grab a couple of pictures. (little did she know how the night would end. :/ )
This week, Craig's grandma Marian had a birthday. She turned 94. I can only hope that I am as kind, healthy, and intellectually sound as she. This woman is so important to us!
Finally this weekend, when everyone's head was out of a bucket, we played outside!
(excuse the outfit on Ever. Her top was in the dryer so I threw a pajama top on her.)
This evening, we celebrated Father's day at Craig's parents.
After way too many marshmallows, Everleigh Calla thought she was soooo smart. She'd grab one, and sneak in the house to eat it. Too bad this mama is quick too...
Fathers as great as these two are few and far between...
As many of you probably know, Fathers day is emotional for me. So many questions run through my head this day. But what I do know, is that my children are beyond lucky to have Craig as their dad. He is so supportive (unless they mention soccer, then, not so much), involved, fun, loving and an all around amazing father.
The kids had this to say about him. (and don't judge Madden's 'what daddy wears' answer. :) )
Check back tomorrow. Our baby E turns, (gasp) TWO!!
We celebrated her birthday on Saturday, and I'll post those pictures and pics from tomorrow sometime Monday night.
Till then,
Mama Bergie, OUT.
