FRIENDS

We are thankful for good friends.

We got together for pajamas, pizza, snacks, movies and fun with our friends and 15 kiddos. It was super fun...and loud. But nothing out of the norm for our house. Thanks for hosting, Duss'.

If you've talked to Madden lately, you've heard him obsess over Disney's Frozen. He's asked Santa for nothing but Frozen stuff. In fact, he's planning on having a Frozen Birthday party. The odd part--we had never seen the movie! Let me tell you, whatever the marketing execs at Disney did, it worked on my kid!
Luckily for us, our friends gifted us tickets to see Frozen! Thanks Reiters! And thankfully, Madden still wants all Frozen stuff for Christmas. :)

Then we joined the rest of our family out to celebrate my cousin Lane's college graduation. He's now officially full of B.S. :) Congrats, Lane! You'll be an amazing Phy Ed Teacher.

With a birthday girl on the rise, my mom and I surprised her at school with lunch! It was all good until someone in the lunchroom asked Paisley who she brought to school with her. Paisley said, "My mom and my grandma." Then the lady looked at MY mom and said, "Oh, this is your mom?" ---UMM, OK. Yes, my mom looks really young but do not tell me you think I'm Paisley's grandma!!! She quickly said, "Oh, I thought that was your mom and she was your sister." Umm hmmm. Sure. :)
For my own dignity and sanity, I'm going to believe that's what she really thought (and not that she was just a quick thinker!)
Friends like Oliver are fun too. And after lunch at paisley's school, I like that he can't talk. Because I'm quite sure Oliver thinks I look like I'm 24.

This NEVER happens. I love it.

We celebrated Christmas with my bestie and her fam this weekend. The kids still call Elliot "baby Elliot", even though it's clear she's anything but babyish anymore. She's growing too quickly.

And Miss P was able to open an early Birthday present from Amy and Matt too. She wasn't excited about this at all!!!

I'm not sure why I torture the kids to sit for a picture. I guess I think someday we will look back on these and be really happy we took them?? They never turn out good and I just yell at the kids to "SMILE. NO, SIT DOWN. HEY YOU, LOOK OVER HERE. SMILE. SIT DOWN. STAY THERE. JUST ONE MORE." Poor kids.

And today...today was a big day for us. It was Paisley's first friend Birthday party. Our tradition is to host family birthday parties (with extended family too) until the kids are in school---then, it's all friends. She's been asking to have her party at Skate America since she turned 5, so we couldn't disappoint.
She got rollerblades last year for her birthday and rocked the rink today! Some friends from school and some friends from dance class joined her to celebrate. It may have been the "best day of her life!"

The littles joined in the fun too. And were surprisingly good about giving her space with her friends.

The kids have nicknames, and Hudson's just happens to be "H Bomb". And it just so happens that someone's name fits him well. Good photo bomb, kid. You win. Mommy has antlers.

With a birthday on Christmas it's hard to top Santa coming...but I think today, we came pretty darn close.

Speaking of friends...named Santa...
The littles ran in to the big guy one day after play group. They were either in complete awe or scared to death. Thankfully, Craig snapped a quick photo while Madden told him what everybody wanted for Christmas.
And as far as I'm concerned, this picture is better than any one we'll get with them on his lap. So for this year, here it is.

May you enjoy the next week to the fullest.

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!
