Miss P Performs

Happy New Year, friends. Did you make any new year resolutions? I made about a zillion of them. I won't bore you with my 'get healthy' resolutions, but I did make one resolutions pertaining to our family.
Do less "sighing and grunting" when they kids make a mistake. I find myself constantly sighing loudly or yelling 'Ugh' when they spill milk, or knock something over. I want them to learn to be more careful, but I'm not sure me showing my frustration in a negative way is going to help them learn that. And now, (not shockingly) they are doing it too. I need to give them a break. They are kids. It's not their fault I had 4 kids so dang close together. (or that they got my clutsy genes)

I wish my new years resolution could be to watch more dance. However, aint nobody got time fo dat. So, I'll just have to continue to watch when Paisley and Makyah perform.
Miss P had her first performance of the year...and her first performance wearing a costume. That's a big deal to a 6 year old who is going to be a fashion designer when she grows up, you know.
The fam went to the bball game to watch our little star.

First up, the smallest Berg of the bunch. She's begging to be in dance. Soon, honey. Soon.

Paisley is on center, in the front row. She did wonderful!

Her class started out with like 12 girls. Now, 5. Dance is tough stuff. Only the strong survive.

Her friend, Emarie.

Paisley also had her 6 year check up this week. She weighs 42 pounds and is 44 inches tall. (36th percentile for weight, 27th for height). It looks like the nasal steroid she is on is helping some, so we have upped the dosage and hoping that is the key. Next well-child check up? Not for 1-2 years! How is she that big? I don't like it.

Because the birthday celebrations seem to never end, we had some family over for lunch today...complete with a DQ Monster High ice cream cake. It doesn't get a whole lot better if you ask me.

Berg cousins...
SIX!

You know when it's bedtime and the kids start winding down? You know...and then their dad riles them up?! And it ALWAYS ends with someone crying. Tonight, Madden...and almost Craig. Instead he threw out a few punches to the couch after he got kicked in the jaw. It never fails. Reason #497 that I like to play barbies and color with the kids. #roughhousingneverendswell

However, I am thankful that they get to have this type of play. :)

I was looking back at the Confessions blog and thinking about how much I enjoyed writing about more than just what we do all week. Some of you enjoyed it more too. It's just that....with my job...I really can't write publically like that anymore. Sad, I know. Maybe I can begin writing under an alter ego or something. I'll think on it for a bit...but can feel a change in blogging coming about. Ideas? Let me know! :)

Hope you all stay warm if you live in WI. School's are closed here tomorrow...predicting temps around -40 to -60. Yes, negative. Seriously....that's messed up.
(and now I can't stop thinking about the homeless and how I want to drive around and pick people up to sleep in my warm house tonight. Prayers that those without a home find shelter this week!)

Until next week...
Mama Bergie, Out.
