Fall

Fall is in the air, and this week our family got a taste of it. First up? Hudson and Madden had a field trip to the apple orchard. It was their first time on a school bus, very exciting stuff!

They also had a very special chaperone! Grandma Brenda went with the boys, as she had gone on this same field trip with Paisley two years ago.

Madden's getting really good at this weird smile-thing. It's lovely.

The Dolphins...

While the boys were on a field trip, and I was at work, Craig and Everleigh met Paisley at school for lunch.

Ev is definitely her own person. She loves hats, even if they are mine and don't quite fit. She doesn't care.

Again, going with the fall theme, the kids and I attended the International Fall Festival. Paisley danced in the parade. First was a photo op with friend Emarie and her big sister Eden.

And we can't forget the fabulous foursome.

Unfortunately, Paisley was smack dab in the middle of the group of girls, so she's really hard to see. If you see Makyah holding the sign, she's like two girls straight behind her. I'm pointing at her from my computer screen, can you see her now? ;)

Fall means soaking up every last second of outside play.

Fall also means football. And if you read last week's post, you know how that went.
Today, Craig was working so I was a little nervous about dealing with this all on my own. And sure enough, this is how it started.

The only way he'd go is if Monchichi went too. I thought to myself, what do I do? I want him to participate. But do I want him to participate hanging on to his monkey? Not really...because as he was walking on the field, he was smooching him, hugging him and saying 'monkey' in a baby voice. Would Craig let him do it? No, he'd be mortified. But I wasn't ready for the meltdown like last week, so Monchichi played flag football today too.

They played catch for a while. I'm not so sure this is proper football etiquette, but he looks kind of like a dancer, so I think it looks good.

The girls kept busy under the bleachers.

Hudson actually made the first catch of his group. And look who was there to help him out.

And clearly Hudson was more concerned about Monchichi flying out of his arms during his great catch than what he had just accomplished. Don't worry, I cheered loud enough for us both.

A great catch by Madden!

Then they played real flag football. Well, the 4 year old kind. Sharks vs Minnows. See Hudson (and monkey)? He's having fun!!!!

Hudder and Monkey break away!

And brother gets those flags!
Whew. As we left football tonight we had laughs, cheers, happy kids and a happy mom. Madden asked me if we could take a picture of him in his football jammies to show his coach because now he's a football player. :)
Next week, hopefully we can convince Monchichi to stay home or sit in the stands. But hey--happy kids equal happy moms.
Happy Fall
