The Bergs take over Blue Harbor Resort

Once upon a time, there was a family of 6. There was Craig, the dad, Brook, the mom, and four children named Paisley, Hudson, Madden and Everleigh. The family of 6 decided to take a mini vacay with Craig's family to Blue Harbor Resorts on Lake Michigan. One might think that the Bergs were crazy. They do in fact, have four children three and under. And those who questioned their sanity were likely correct in their thinking. Keeping the Berg children in order at home is one thing, but in a hotel for a couple of nights sounds, well, awful.

To the surprise of many, the Berg family joined their extended family on Friday morning, and had a splendid time the whole weekend through. The entire family, including Craig's sister, Melissa and her family, and his brother Randy and his family-- along with Grandma and Grandpa Berg helped Craig and Brook the whole weekend through. They were very thankful for the help they received, because one can be sure that they would probably still be getting ready for the first day of swimming if the family hadn't helped out.
The eldest Berg child, Paisley, had her own agenda throughout the weekend. It was titled, "mission lose mom and dad". Paisley tagged along with anyone but her parents, and wanted nothing to do with them the whole weekend through. She went down water slide after water slide, chased her cousins around the condo, ate plenty of junk food and didn't stop moving from morning to night. At the end of the trip she did however engage in conversation with her parents asking them when their next "acation" would be.

The Berg family of six played on the beaches of Lake Michigan one morning, while still sporting bed head and jammies. The morning sun just peeked through the clouds as the kids splashed in the waves and dug in the sand.

As the days turned to nights in the villa, the family gathered to play games, talk and laugh. The laughter continued after sister in law, Sabrina said, "I think a bird just hit the window" The family questioned her claim with disbelief, the noise was likely a crazy toddler running about. But then, the people heard the noise again. It was then that they realized that in wasn't in fact a bird, but rather a size 10, black flip flop. Sure enough, Craig had been locked out of the villa in the pouring rain for an undetermined amount of time. And by undetermined, one can assume it was a very long time. Once the family let him in he shouted, "Didn't anybody notice I was missing?!?!" The family tried to hide their giggles but it was nearly impossible. One can hope that Craig will soon find humor in this story as well, but until then...we will focus on the laughter with others, rather than at others.

Paisley, Hudson and Madden enjoyed their time at the water park. They zoomed down slides, stuck their faces in the water, jumped off the sides of the pool and relaxed in the lazy river. Little Everleigh laid in the arms of Grandma Berg and slept away.

When the fun had ended for the Berg family on Lake Michigan, they headed north to the father's dream-home, the mecca of football, Lambeau field. They tailgated with sandwiches, cookies and juice boxes. Likely not the traditional tailgating menu, but a delicious one nonetheless.

A great time was had by everyone on this all-family vacation. The wee little ones were tuckered out and ready to get home to their own beds, toys and their puppy. The adults too, were anxious to resume to a bed in which they didn't have to share with a little girl who slept horizontally, feet in her mothers face. And so the drive home continued...(with a straw as a microphone taped to Paisley's face)

And so the story ends. The family of six was so very thankful for the wonderful people and the wonderful memories.

THE END.

And next week... the twins are 18 months old, and Everleigh turns 2 months!
