The past week was full of ups and downs. Lots of laughs, books, songs, tickles and snuggles. Of course that also comes with the screams, tantrums, hitting, and purposefully doing the opposite of whatever I say. But, the kids and I made it through just fine!
A quick update on each of the kids and some pictures....
Everleigh is smiling lots and doing more cooing. She loves to be outside and to walk around. I've also laid her down and come back to her in a different position. She scooted or kicked herself almost all the way in a circle! She has her longest awake period in the evenings and doesn't actually go to sleep until about midnight. However, she's been (knock on wood) sleeping a good 4-5 hour stretch! She's eating about every 2 1/2 to 3 hours during the day.
Paisley finished up swimming lessons and passed level 2 parent/child. I believe the next lessons she will not have to have a parent in the water with her. Thank goodness! Although...we've got 3 more children to swim with! She jumps off the side of the pool and goes all the way under the water! She mastered her "scooping swims" (front crawl) and her "Star" (swimming on her back). She can also blast off the side of the pool with her face in the water.
Hudson and Madden have been cute little stinkers. Hudson is finally coming out of his shell and standing up for himself. He's been stealing toys back from Madden...and even tackling him!
They both love climbing on any and everything. They love building with blocks and playing with pretend food. Hudson steals food from Madden's plate, and Madden steals toys from Hudson's hand. They almost always play together--once and a great while they will each find something to do on their own, but most often they are finding trouble together! :)
(Everleigh needed to eat at the same time as the big kids, so I got their lunch ready and went into the living room to feed Ev. I came back into the kitchen to this. Gotta love them. Gotta hate cleaning up over and over and over. )
Well...I'm off to pick out clothes, get my pump ready (ugh) and gather everything for work tomorrow. Craig is off Monday and Tuesday, and then our regular babysitters, Carly and Haley will be watching all four kiddos for the rest of August. Then in September the kids will go to Londa's two days a week, and my mom will take them 1-2 days a week as well. Craig usually has at least one day off during the week, so it should work well.
The last 7 weeks have been a blur. I have never loved so much in my life. I've also never been so purely exhausted in my life. Everleigh Calla was the best surprise we have ever gotten-- it's going to be really hard to leave her tomorrow morning. I have truly enjoyed every snuggle and can't believe it's time for me to share her!
I will do my best to post next week but am not promising anything. We will be going on a mini vacation with the Berg's...all of them (!!!) and I'm not sure what time we'll be back.
Until next time...
