Happy Birthday Everleigh!

Happy 5th Birthday to miss Everleigh Calla. How in the world are you five? It seriously seems like a month ago that you were little, wearing dresses and had a head full of curls.
You've grown in to a silly, smart and hilarious five year old, that's for sure!

On Ev's birthday we went to see Finding Dory!
Oh yeah, that morning we also opened gifts. :)

Evers also got a karaoke machine! She loves to sing, and I'm guessing once she can read well, we will be listening to a lot of karaoke. Right now her favorite tune to sing is "Wagon Wheel".

Everleigh had her last big family party the day after her actual birthday. All of the kids have family parties (with extended family) until they are in Kindergarten. Then, they have friend parties and a smaller get together with immediate family. It's crazy to think that this was it....this is the last family birthday party we will host. It sure is bittersweet. She had a soccer theme...

There were lots of kids...jumping, swinging, sliding, yelling...

...hiding...
Love her dearly. And hoping that the fake smile goes away soon.

I asked Everleigh a few questions:
Who is your favorite friend: Elise (a friend from 4K)
What's your favorite thing to do: Play Outside
What's your favorite food: Tator Tot Hotdish
What do you want to be when you grow up: A police officer
What's your favorite animal: Elephant

If you don't know Everleigh well, you might not know what a great singer she is. The girl LOVES to sing and make up songs. If she hears a song one time on the radio, she can remember it and sing it for days. She loves to play outside and is okay playing alone. She uses a whiny voice about 75% of the time. It's maddening. She likes to sleep in and likes to get out of bed at bedtime to do things like floss her teeth. It's also maddening. She's silly, sweet, caring, does not like dresses or princesses one ounce, loves to do dishes and mop, and loves to swing.
She's one of a kind. She doesn't like strangers to look at her, but don't let that fool you. She loves to be the center of attention at dinner time--it's like she's on center stage with joke telling and silly dinner time prayers.
It was a fun day and emotional for me...5 is big. 5 isn't anywhere close to a baby. And I know that all to well, once they hit 5, time triples, I swear.

To a great year....Happy Birthday, Everleigh Calla! We love you!
