School Days

On August 27th, this little guy celebrated his 13th birthday! He looked so dapper with his new bow tie. Oscar Miller loves to snuggle, lick, sleep and new this year--beg for food and bark. Within the last few months, Oscar found his voice and now barks to go outside, get out of the gate in the backyard, get off of the couch or just bark at nothing. It's super fun (insert eye roll).

Enjoying his big birthday bone. Don't worry though, he wanted to eat the paper grass just as much as the treat.

Paisley had dance tryouts at the end of August as well. She made the Silver team, and is with her two best dance buds, Lydia and Emarie! We are looking forward to a fun dance season.

As school was about to begin, I took the girls for pedicures...Everleigh's first one!
She keeps asking me when she can pick her polish off. My answer continues to be never.

We ended summer with a fun day with the Lokkens on the river. (The only picture I got...but a cute one. :) )

And just like that, summer vacay was over.
Our 1st, 2nd and 4th graders were headed to sign-in day at Locust Lane.

Everleigh is in 1st grade with Mrs. Gallaher. She's very excited because she made a connection with Mrs. Gallaher last year, when she was Madden's teacher.

Hudson is in 2nd grade and has Ms. Peterson for his teacher.

Madden is in 2nd grade and has Mrs.Pritchard for his teacher. Both of the boys are excited about who they have, but keep begging for me to put them in the same class next year.

Paisley is in 4th grade with Mr. Sommer. She's super excited to be in the big-kid wing at school this year and is already looking forward to the last couple weeks of school when she can learn to be a safety patroller.

First day of school!!

My whole world, heading off to school. Oh the places you'll go...

I waited with the kids on the playground on the first day. The boys took off with their friends on the playground right away and I had to chase them down to get a hug.
Paisley found her friends right away and hung around waiting for more friends to arrive.
Everleigh...she cried. The moment we pulled up to the school, she began crying. She hung on to me and tucked her head down and cried. She broke my heart. Luckily, Paisley is super comforting for her.

Her tears decreased as it was time to head it. She didn't smile, but she did wave.
Everyone had an awesome first week of school! We are looking forward to watching the kids learn and grow throughout the year.

Everleigh started a new year of soccer with team Skittles. This year she has a bigger field and even a ref! I'm new to this whole soccer mom thing, so we are learning together.

Well, that's it. Now we begin the constant running. Dance two nights a week, soccer two nights a week, church on Wednesdays and soon enough, hockey will begin too.
Doing homework, signing folders, packing lunches and getting the kids to bed at a decent time. It's time to get the organized chaos down pat. We've got this 2017-2018 school year.
